An Old Story:

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or
shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Now the Indian Version of this story:

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and w ell fed while others are cold and starving. NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled
with food.

The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.

Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter .

Mayawati states this as `injustice' done on Minorities.. Amnesty International and UN Secretary General Mr. Koffi Annan criticize the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.

The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).

Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for 'Bengal Bandh' in West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.

CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers.

Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway Trains, aptly named as the 'Grasshopper Rath'..

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' Prevention of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act' [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the
winter. &nbs p; Arjun Singh makes 'Special Reservation ' for Grasshoppers in Educational
Institutions & in Government Services..

The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes,it's home is confiscated by the Government
and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.

Arundhati Roy calls it ' A Triumph of Justice'..

Lalu calls it 'Socialistic Justice '.

CPM calls it the ' Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden '

Koffi Annan invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly in the next session.

Many years later.....

The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company in Silicon Valley,

Thousands of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India,

As a result of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the grasshoppers,

If i had really done what i said here "buy gold screw the rest"
that is, buy gold I would have made at least $40 for every $100 i used. I still believe you can make another $60 if you spent the $140 buying gold.

With that said I am actually buying gold asap.

too much rush to quit smoking.
Started smoking again since a week now. Not bad considering that it can be done.

Lets try this again.

Smoking sucks.

HD DVD & Bluray joins PirateBay

Ok not exactly PirateBay or I haven't checked it out yet. But yes the Piracy part IS TRUE.

For those who are still in the dark the news is that BluRay Pirated DVDs are available now on certain p2p networks. If you going to ask me which network, I'll say "No". Hint, there is only one p2p network from where it is worth downloading and gives highest speed. Bluray disks / rips as they call em have been around for quite few months now. Some content that wasn't available on BluRay has ALSO been ported to bluray by these cool guys.

So if you were wondering whether or not to buy BluRay Drives and players, well go ahead. Before you go "yipeeing" you might wanna consider the price tag and the fact that I haven't tested it out myself, I don't even own a BluRay player and stuff. Its the damn tracker I wrote to detect pirated content that threw it on my face. And I confirmed it through listings on the undernet. Apart from Bluray HD DVD is also equally listed. However, I see more listing of BluRay. I propose the advocates (commercial engines) of these two technologies can benefit by promoting No-Loss piracy. More on No-Loss piracy later. It will definitely bring in the adoption of these technologies. Especially now that DRM/Content Locking etc. has been done away with. Hurray for technology, everyone can use it now.

No-loss piracy is a term that I made up over an eating-lunch-alone session. In Short "No-Loss piracy is the method of 21st century marketing where one or more copyright owners (or in partnership) release complete content/technology into pirate waters in order satisfy a bigger goal."

Why is it called No-Loss?
Producer A has rights to a certain movie. Company B has a device technology (as in our case here). Company B will negotiate to compensate A for the loss in revenue but the loss is minimal compared to exposure A's product will receive or whatever tangible/intangible benefits. On a mutual not-publicized consent the Producer A's content will be released into pirate waters that will also benefit Company B in a mutual respect. Within days the Internet will have individual, unlinked references to both/either of them boosting search engine results for the keyword. Think "Business".

Piracy did some good after all.
