I came to know only a day before the Event of "Google Extended IO Singapore on May 10th 2011" that my registration is successful. I had assumed I won't be going and till the last minute I didn't want to go. After I walked in I was still not sure if it's worth hanging around. The free Heinekens supply kept me going. But I am glad I stayed.

It's not like you can't watch it online live on Youtube, and the event is like 10 pm SGT to 1 A.m. so why go? Although I admit they could have had more speakers from Google who could answer questions and generally show some Android developer support in Singapore. The whole reason is networking and meeting peers. When the IO started streaming and amazing Android doohickey stuff was being shown, you could hear the whole room go "wwwwwoooooo" and start clapping spontaneously. This wouldn't have happened at home where you sit alone and look around to share the awesome stuff you just saw only to find yourself gawking at the monitor. With like minded people who appreciate the same things you do it's different and end of it all you don't feel like maybe "something is wrong with me.. but I find the gyroscopic control of labyrinth quite useful and could use it for....<insert idea>"

Well that was the whole idea and I am glad I was there. I did not eat any of the whole stash of food because I had dinner which is sad, coz it looked good. I think the Google Singapore peeps should have mentioned dinner would be provided. I hate to see so much food wasted. This is Asia guys not U.S. A.

If you get a chance next time, just go. It's good way to hang out and do nothing, meet peers.

Shared a cab on the way back with another attendee so not so bad.

Shit, this was hard work. Finally moved the blog from MSN clutches to my this 3ezy.com free hosting. Not bad. I got an FTP account with 1GB space, supports PHP but no mysql. fair enough. the blog system i am using now dont need a huge database. i just used sqlite. i am using serendipity (http://www.s9y.org) pretty neat. Its just as fast as MSN. occasionally slow, must be the shared server cpu.

well s9y (in short ) can import from most system all the blogs and stuff. ofcourse images dont come and stupid live spaces you cant embed media directly so nothing gets imported from that anyway (not even youtube embed, since they hash it or something). So I used the RSS import to get most of the posts out to this place. the rest dating back 2 years i filtered through the important ones and copy pasted one by one.

well new place. lets see if i can post my "lists" here. Back to more random bullshit on the internet.

and trying to quit. trying to reduce. Trying to remember what it was like when I dint have to "light up".

I smoked my last cigarette 48 hours ago... still going strong. I did not believe I could have come this far.

The book by Allen Carr helped me quit smoking almost the same day I picked it up from the NLB. The one I found in NLB was a bit different.
It was much more fun to read, it used illustrations so it was like watching a south park of my smoking self.

I wish everyone would read this book and get out of smoking.

Its not easy but its do able. I am fighting my last day after which I will be completely "FREE" from physical nicotine withdrawal issues.

It is great to be free of the shitty habit of smoking once and for all. i aint going back.

Happy Independence f*ing day tomorrow. I am going for fine wine and dinin since i'll be saving 400$
